How to write an effective conclusion in your assignment
Introduction -
As the word says, "introduction", it simply introduces the topic of the article, any essay or assignment given. An introduction describes the entire topic given in one paragraph. An introduction has to be so good that it binds the readers to the topic or the story or any assignment. An introduction has to be strong so it captures the reader's mind and grips it through. Introduction needs to be such that it makes the readers' interest in the story or article or any assignment. An introduction plays a very crucial role in the story or an assignment or any given topic. Similarly, a conclusion also has a very strong part in any given topic.
But sometimes even introductions and conclusions can be very difficult to write. Because these form the basic component of any assignment, Conclusions have to strong and noteworthy. Both introduction and conclusion requires time to write. One has to ponder and then write an effective Conclusion or Introduction, as they give an influential impact on the reader.
In our schools, since childhood, we are taught how should an essay or any work must have a proper beginning, a proper and unique end and the summary of the story. Even in colleges and further in universities and other academic colleges, students are taught with a variety of writing essays and writing assignments. Having penned down something in a proper manner is surely a difficult thing to do because it requires a unique ending and beginning along with lots of time, efforts and skills. Furthermore, while writing on any topic, conclusion is the final and the most important part to define whole topic briefly in a gist. A reader understands the entire topic from its ending itself. Hence an ending of any assignment needs to be strong enough to grip the reader. Therefore it is very important to give a clear and understandable conclusion. Most of the writers believe that final words of any piece of writing show the skills and expertise of writers because just in few lines, he has to explain everything.
If you are trying to write an interesting conclusion of your assignment, it must be relevant with a proper content or else the points or the conclusion can give the impression that you have poor writing skills. However, one must keep in mind that concluding part is not just a summary of the points of the assignment or the thesis that you can repeat. Hence, a conclusion should never be repeated or it should never have sentences repetitively. This also shows poor writing skills. Instead, one should always use fresh content to grip the readers' mind.
For writing an effective conclusion one needs to follow a critical approach to make it good and strong. The conclusion should be the reflection of the topic you have already explained about in paragraphs.
Few points to keep in mind while writing a strong and effective conclusion -
1. Try to bring some more effective thoughts to support your arguments. Along with this, if you can include a powerful last sentence that would really do wonders for your topic because this will leave a truly strong impression on your reader who will then keep thinking abut the topic.
2. Just as your introduction acts as a bridge to the assignment, similarly a conclusion also reflects the topic. A conclusion makes the transition in the readers' mind about the topic. Such a strong and influential conclusion will help the reader see all the analysis and research done for the assignment.
3. Your conclusion is your chance to have the last and strong words of the subject on paper. The conclusion allows you to have the final say on the issues you have raised in your topic. It demonstrates/reflects the importance of your ideas, and to propel the reader to a see a new side of the subject.
4. It is also your opportunity to make a good final impression and to end on a positive note.
The conclusion can go beyond the confines of the assignment. A strong conclusion is such which gives a broader aspect to the topic and makes the reads glad to read the assignment. It also helps the readers see things differently in the topic. It suggests broader implications which will not only raise interest in the reader but also enrich him/her with new ideas while reading.
The end of an essay should therefore convey a sense of completeness and closure of the topic. It should also give the topic a larger implications and aspects.
One should conclude by linking the last paragraph to the first. Conclude with a sentence which is structured mainly of one-syllable words. Simple language can help create an effect of not so happening or a dull assignment or essay. One must avoid using negative comments and harsh words. A simple vocabulary should be kept incase of any confusion.
In other words, the concluding part of any paper or the conclusion simply acts as mirror to the given assignment. So one needs to be extremely careful while writing an end to the assignment.
